American Sabre has been manufacturing defensive sprays since 1975, and today supplies many police forces around the world - including the Swedish and American ones. This spray is specially designed for countries that do not allow pepper spray, and contains a strong purple UV paint that is very difficult to wash off. Unique to Sabre Defence I.D. is that the paint is UV light reflective, which means that police can use special lamps to identify people who have been sprayed with the paint even after several weeks have passed since the visible purple in the paint has disappeared from the attacker's skin. Police can quickly and efficiently search large groups of people with this type of lamp.

Many defensive sprays on the Swedish market have fixed belt clips, even though most people carry the spray in their pocket or bag.
