But what is the difference between Snigel and SnigelDesign?
The design and development of equipment is done in the Swedish company SnigelDesign. The company is located south of Globen in Stockholm. More precisely at the address Frykdalsbacken.
In SnigelDesign's premises the development and design of the carrying systems (equipment belts, equipment vests and belts), pockets and holders for equipment, tactical backpacks and bags, to name a few of the products that SnigelDesign develops, takes place.
When the equipment and products are sold, they are given the name Snigel. Snigel is a trademark that SnigelDesign owns and uses for its tactical products.
How did SnigelDesign start?
In 1990, PH Magnusson interned at FMV. PH then developed a combat harness and a 100-litre backpack that the armed forces tested. Klättermusen then took over and further developed the girdle and a face vest for the Army.
At the end of the 1990s, SnigelDesign was commissioned by FMV to further develop the combat vest developed by Klättermusen. This system is still visible!
In 2009 they were commissioned by FMV to develop a new body armour system. It was to have a grey colour. The system was named Stridsväst-08. In the end 2 000 of this system were delivered.
