EM-15 Edge Marker TheEM-15 is an edge marker, permanent quality pencil with a cut tip that makes it easy to color the grinding bevel when you want to find and grind the tool to its existing edge angle. The advantage of this method is that you remove minimal steel to restore your tool to its original shape.
The marking pen is alcohol-based and has a tip of 1-4.6 mm.
Tormek's Marking Method
- Paint the grinding bevel, mount your tool in the jig and place it against the universal support.
- Pull the grindstone forward with your hand and check where the staining disappears.
- Raise or lower the universal support until the staining disappears from the entire grinding stage, from tip to heel. Now the angle is correct and it's time to start grinding!
