SE-77 Straight Edge Jig TheSE-77 Straight Edge Jig from Tormek makes it easy to set up your chisels and planers for a 90° sharpening. The jig's design gives you the best conditions for a successful sharpening with the highest precision in the end result. It is also possible to set the jig for grinding a slightly convex shape.
The jig is equipped with a movable fork that can be adjusted by means of two small adjustment wheels, which allows fine adjustment. This may be required if the tool is not exactly parallel to the stone, is very narrow or if the steel is slightly twisted. The fine adjustment setting is made in seconds by releasing one of the adjustment wheels and tightening the other.
The design of this jig also allows positioning and sharpening of tapered tools, such as Japanese chisels. The safety cap holds the jig firmly on the universal support and prevents the tool from slipping off the grindstone. This ensures that you do not risk injuring your fingers. The jig fits chisels and planers up to 77 mm wide.
